Founded in 1993, the independent magazine Neural is a forerunner in today’s discussion on how digitization is transforming culture, taking a role of bringing together different fields of artistic and activist practices. In the past twenty-six (25+1) years of being a single node within a larger network, the Neural project has been built to echo the networks it nurtures and connects with, in a critical but also open and collaborative way. This installation presents the evolution of the magazine itself, artworks that were commissioned for specific issues, and snapshots of the greater Neural Archive, which includes publications of the community to which it belongs.
