Leaving behind a decade marked by a backlash against the Internet and the network society, the 33rd festival edition aims at a broad re-evaluation of networks and their limits. Drawing on the legacies of European critical and autonomous network cultures, it also wants to highlight alternatives to bring about sustainable social change. Read more

The festival week of transmediale 2020 End to End starts with the opening night at HKW on 28 January 2020.

Acitivties for Kids at Deutsches Technikmuseum
We co-present an extensive program of hands-on activities for kids at Deutsches Technikmuseum.
Until 1 March kids can control computers with bananas, build mini robots, or encrypt your name on the Enigma - the legendary cipher machine from World War II in the exhibition The Network. People, Cables, Data Streams at Deutsches Technikmuseum. More

Pass Counter & Pass Pick-up
Here you find how to pick up your pass and what the opening hours of our pass counters are.
Passes must be picked up at the transmediale/CTM Pass Counters; the pre-sale ticket itself does not give access to festival events. Please bring a valid document of identification at the time of pick-up (ID card, passport, driver’s license). Passes may be picked up by the authorized ticket-holder only and are non-transferable. Access to festival venues can only be granted with valid festival pass and wristband or ticket. Lost passes or tickets will not be refunded. Reduced Festival Pass holders will be asked to present their certification or student ID at the counter in order to exchange the pre-sale printout for their pass.

At HKW you can find the restaurant Weltwirtschaft and the Hirschfeld Bar. Please not that credit or debit cards are not accepted (cash only). These are independent catering companies, which do not operate under the direction of transmediale. At Hauptbahnhof, within a walking distance of 15 minutes, there are plenty of additional food options open every day.
Volksbühne Berlin
You can enjoy snacks and drinks at the bar's and the Parkett-Café. The bar's open on Friday and Saturday at 10:00 and close at 00:00. Also, there are many Cafés, Restaurants, Delis, and Grocery Stores close by the theatre.

Volksbühne Berlin
The nearest ATM is in the U-Bahn Station Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz altough there are many ATMs in the area of the theatre.

HKW
Our festival venue HKW has barrier-free, stepless entrances to the main foyer. Other barrier-free entrances are located on the west and north sides of the building. The entrances to the main foyer on the south side of the building have wheelchair-height intercom systems.
Volksbühne Berlin
The lower foyer and the main stage are wheelchair accessible via the main entrance. For structural reasons, the Sternfoyer, as well as the Roter and Grüner Salon are not wheelchair accessible. The Volksbühne Berlin has wheelchair seating at the main stage only. People accompanying visitors with disabilities (and with the “B” stamp in the official ID card) enjoy free admission.

Elevators
A barrier-free elevator in the main foyer leads to the basement, upper foyer and auditorium. Another elevator on the upper foyer level leads to the roof terrace. The elevators are equipped with tactile writing.
Toilets
Barrier-free toilets and all gender restrooms are located in both the basement and on the upper foyer level.
Baby Changing Facilities
Changing facilities can be found in the restrooms located in the short hallway of the upper foyer, on the left side of the coat check and pass counter, and in the restrooms on the lower foyer next to the Café stage.

There is one accessible, gender neutral restroom in the Parkettfoyer on the right side.

E2E Pass
With the E2E Pass you can experience the whole program of the 2020 edition of transmediale. The E2E is sold out.
The E2E Pass grants access to all transmediale events (with the exception of the Student Forum) and the CTM & transmediale collaborative discourse program To Go Beyond and the CTM & transmediale Berghain Night In-Between Ends. You will also be able to register for our activations for free. The E2E Pass grants unlimited access to the exhibition during the festival week. If you would like to visit the exhibition between 3 February and 1 March 2020, please purchase an extra ticket.
transmediale + CTM Connect Pass 2020
Experience transmediale 2020 and CTM 2020 together with our Connect Pass. The Connect Pass is sold out.
The transmediale + CTM Connect Pass gives you access to most transmediale and CTM events, excluding the following exceptions: transmediale Student Forum, CTM 2020 Opening Concert on 25 January, Technosomatics workshop on 29.1., Hildur Gudnadottir's Chernobyl on 29 and 30 January, Robert Henke's CBM 8032 AV on 29 January, Drops and Seeds by Prumsodun Ok, Ana Maria Rodriguez, and Fred Pommerehn from 31 January to 2 February, and other concerts TBA. Also the transmediale workshops need pre-registration. The Connect Pass grants unlimited access to the transmediale exhibition The Eternal Network during the festival week. If you would like to visit the exhibition between 3 February and 1 March 2020, you need to purchase an additional ticket.
With the transmediale + CTM Connect Gold Pass you can visit all CTM and all transmediale 2020 events with the exception of the transmediale Student Forum. Please not that all transmediale workshops require pre-registration. The Connect Gold Pass grants unlimited access to the transmediale exhibition The Eternal Network during the festival week. If you would like to visit the exhibition between 3 February and 1 March 2020, please purchase an extra ticket.

Please note: As some CTM and transmediale festival locations have a limited capacity, access cannot always be guaranteed. We suggest to arrive on time to avoid disappointment. Access to CTMs nighttime events cannot be granted for persons under 18 years of age.

Student Forum Pass
Are you a student or a student group and plan to visit transmediale 2020? Expand your festival experience with our Student Forum Pass.
The Student Forum Pass gives you access to the Student Forum and to the exhibition The Eternal Network during the festival week. If you would like to visit the exhibition between 3 February and 1 March 2020, please purchase an extra ticket. Additionally, students can register for a thematic tour of the exhibition.

Reduced Symposium Passes and Film & Video Passes are available to students, those officially serving German Federal Voluntary Service (BFD), people receiving social welfare or persons with disabilities (at least 50 v. H. MdE). Individuals with disabilities may also bring an accompanying person to the festival; please contact us via tickets@transmediale.de beforehand. Children up to 15 years of age have free admission.
Anyone who is not eligible for a reduction but cannot afford to buy a full-price pass may apply as a volunteer to receive a free pass in exchange for their help. You can apply to volunteer here!
