Klaus Dörr born 1961 in the Palatinate, has been the director of the Volksbühne Berlin since August 2018 (from mid-April, 2018 until the end of the 2017/18 season, on a provisional basis). Mr. Dörr was previously artistic director and deputy director at Schauspiel Stuttgart (Intendance: Armin Petras) from 2013 to 2018. From 2006 to 2013, he was the managing director of the Maxim-Gorki-Theater Berlin, from the season, 2009/2010, he was also deputy director under Armin Petras. From 1999 to 2006 he was a producer and a production manager under the label Performart. In addition, he was a project consultant for theatres and theatre promoters with the company Culture Concepts. From 1997 to summer 1999, he worked as an assistant at the Berliner Ensemble.
His teaches a various institutions, including the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch, the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart and the Akademie für Darstellende Kunst Baden-Württemberg.
